Lead Safety

Beginning June 1st, 1999, a new law went into effect which impacted practically every new remodeling project, and you need to know about it, and so does your contractor. Any renovations, improvements, and/or repairs may possibly disturb some lead containing materials. Your contractor must provide to you an 8-page government pamphlet about the dangers of lead in your home in these cases. This is not an optional mandate; this is the new law.

What does this mean to you? It means that you, the client, need to be sure that the contractor you choose as of the effective date has the proper certification. In keeping with the new guidelines, Jim, the Owner/Manager of Around Your House, has obtained the required certification for lead abatement.
