What a difference new cabinets can make! These new units are more spacious, and have a more inviting design and a much lighter finish that truly brightens up the entire room. The countertops and appliances haven't been installed yet, but they're coming...

We've replaced the old light fixture with something different: a combination light and ceiling fan. The new lights face downward and to the side and should provide more light in the kitchen without shining directly in anyone's way. The fan should do wonders improving air circulation through the room and consequently through this part of the house, as well, making this a much more comfortable place to be.

Here's the fridge right at home, and alongside it, you'll see that we've greatly improved on the space efficiency of the kitchen by putting three appliances in the space once taken up by one. The in-cabinet stove and countertop range have been replaced with a standard, modern combination unit. The giant micorwave that was taking up so much counter space has also been replaced with a space saving model mounted underneath the top cabinets and above the range. These new units should prove to be not only a vast improvement in space efficiency, but also energy efficiency, as well.

The walls look more inviting now, and, as promised, new doors have been installed to match the new cabinets. That in-wall cupboard has also been modified to match the new cabinetwork, thus coordinating the enitre room. You can also see that we've got our new floor installed, a definite aesthetic improvement that should also brighten the room and be much easier to clean.

Here you can see our new countertop, along with the new faucet hardware for the sink. The lever handles make for greater convenience, and the longer neck faucet just makes more sense. This also provides a good view of our finished kitchen as a whole; as you can see, this truly is now a much brighter, more inviting room to be in and work in, sure to be enjoyed by the homeowners for many, many years to come.
